The Cambridge Satchel Company's old school satchels have been on my list for quite a while, but I didn't purchase this until now because I couldn't decide on the size.

I found this old school satchels a few years ago when I was really into briefcase satchels (actually still am now). This is my alternative affordable version of the Proenza Schouler PS1 and the Mulberry Alexa. There are lots of sizes to choose from (11", 13" 14", 15") and I was debating between rather to get 13" or 14".

In the end, I got the classic 13" in red to accessories my black, grey and white wardrobe. Now I have to wait 30 days for my genuine Cambridge Satchel to be handmade and 2-3 days for it to ship to Canada.

The whole menu changes weekly and the antipasti consist mainly of seasonal, bite-sized morsels of fish, meat and vegetables. Me and my friend tried the 5 Antipasti + Primo for $23 combo on that day. The Primo is a list of six ever-changing handmade pasta, I chose the Capunti salsicca e carciofi which is made of handmade capunti with sausage ragu and artichoke. While I really enjoyed the pasta, as it was different than what I normally eat, the dish itself was incredibly bland and not that tasty.

I also ordered the Decadent Dolci for dessert which is a flourless dark chocolate hazelnut cake with sauce which I ate all by myself. It taste similar to the chocolate lava cake I had in Terroni except this one is not soft on the inside. I really enjoyed eating the dessert as I have a heart for anything sweet.

I had really high expectations for this restaurant when I saw the funky and laid-back Italian warehouse interior and especially after I read reviews about it on my favorite japanese blog. I was kinda disappointed about the taste of the pasta but I was happy with the antipasti and dessert.

Something I really wanted to get after I saw the Go Away Music Video by 2NE1. They wore it all the time during their promotion period last year. I have been trying to figure out what brand it is for more than half a year and just when I have given up any hopes. Around a month ago, i found out from a blogger that the earrings are made by a independent label in Japan called Yoshiko Creation Paris.

The picture above was a pdf I made for my mom to bring to Japan with her so she could help me get it. Although she has already canceled her trip to Japan, I'm still going to get the earring. I might post pictures of the real thing later when I receive it.

I found out about 5PREVIEW more than two years ago. I love how their t-shirt gives out a urban chic vibe. Its also done in my favorite colors of black & white. They are famous for the Classic cavour t-shirt which as they but it is "inspired by other brands with some creativity and irony in it."

They are also recognize by the masks on all the model's face when they first came out. I've read it somewhere on their blog that it was because the designer was working in a company back then when she started the independent brand and didn't want anyone to know who she was when she modeled for the t-shirts.

I wanted to purchase their t-shirt before they even had an online store. But I just can't afford to spend more than $80 on a t-shirt that often. It's on my list of t-shirts to get but its after KAIN and Comme des Garcons.

Never was a fan of backpack. Even when i was in elementary school i didn't carry a Jansport backpack like everyone else. My mom use to say they were unsafe too, cause we never watch our back. But I'm so much older now, I think i can carry a backpack around without people stealing from me. And this is Canada not HK. So I've decided to purchase a leather rucksack to add to my little bag collection.

Last year, I got a pair of leather over-the-knee boot and leather motorcycle jacket. This year, I want to purchase a pair of leather shorts and leather rucksack. Leather, Leather, Leather.

Birdy & Me is a blog filled with Illustration & Musings artwork by Kelly Smith. I had almost forgotten about this website within my bunch of bookmarks until I was cleaning it up the other day. I really love how her works combines both fashion and illustration together with a little imagination.

I feel inspired somehow after looking at her works. I would really like to try and do something like this before the summer ends. Most of her works are done in pencil and watercolor. And Pencil is my thing because I like how I can erase and start over without a trace. I don't really like watercolor because I feel insecure and out of control when I'm using it. But the use of watercolor technique really brings out the aura of fashion in the illustration.

I guess I should practice on my watercolor. Wait, I just realized I haven't drawn anything for a long, long time. I wonder if I can still draw something good.

I am seriously on a hat craze right now. Every time I go shopping, I head straight for the accessories section. It's not until now that I realize that stores like H&M and Zara do not carry hats at all. I could swear I have seen them selling hats in stores before, but every time when I need to buy them they are nowhere to be found. Military style is very hit right now, so why aren't there any canvas cadet? God, in time like this I really hate living in Canada, you can never buy anything.

Anyways, ASOS is having a sale on their website and I came across this straw boater hat, don't know how it would look in reality but looks pretty good on the website. And I think I might get it, since I can't seem to find anything in stores. So, does Jenny want one too?

The Pretty Reckless is a band that I have just discovered. They are a rock band that is formed by Little J from Gossip Girl. (Taylor Momsen) The band's music is heavily influenced by bands like The Beatles and Nirvana. I am really lovin' their songs. It's nice to have a rock band in today's pop dominated music world.

Their debut album entitled "Light Me Up" is due to released on August 31, 2010. They have already released some of the songs in the album as a EP. The EP is call "Make Me Wanna Die", highly recommended to check it out.

I have been looking for the perfect breton stripe shirt for quite a while now but had no luck. Yesterday when I check my e-mail, I found out ASOS has a free shipping event. Free shipping really caught my eye because we all know the ridiculous amount of money we have to pay for shipping these day. So then when I was browsing site I found the breton shirt I wanted. There was another one that is silver/black with shoulder pad on sale but doesn't come in my size.

I really love breton stripe, if I could I would get them in other colors too. But the one I love most has to be the classic white/blue or white/black. You can pair them up with a blazer and boyfriend jeans and even with a trench coat would look nice. Now, if I can just get my hands on a trench coat.

I don't know why but I'm always attracted to accessories. There is an endless list of accessories I want to buy. One of them is this Chrome Hearts Leather Bracelet. Since Betty is going back to Hong Kong I'm making a list of things I want her to buy for me and Chrome Hearts is the first thing that pops into my mind. Since you can't get this in Canada. Canada has nothing.

So, I went online and did some research. Betty needs picture and stuff if not she doesn't know what to get. I knew the bracelet is expensive but I didn't know it would be that expensive. I thought the price was around $300-400 but no its actually $479 when I convert it from yen to canadian dollars. I could only find an online store in Japan that sells it.

Should I get it or should I not? This is the only thing I want though.

Remember when I said I wanted to get the Alexander Wang Coco Duffel bag last year? Well, I didn't cause I spend over budgeted in HK. Therefore I didn't really buy much things last year. But since the beginning of this year I have been spending a a lot. (Gotta stop)

Suddenly one day last month, I really wanted the Coco Duffel bag, I don't know why but I wanted it really badly. But since its sold out everywhere I had to look a over the net for it and at the end I send an email to Holt Renfrew asking if they had it. One week later I got a call from them saying that they found one and told me to go downtown and get it. At the end, I didn't end up purchasing it because the price is marked up more than $200.

I had already kinda of given up on it because this year the new black stud version is out and I thought I would never see the brass stud again. But i was wrong, there is a new version coming out in the summer. Coco mini duffel is all I ever wanted, I always had a problem with the original strap because its too short. I don't really like to hold my bags with my hands, I like totes more cause then my hands are more free to do other things. The bag is retailed for $965, gotta save up before it comes out.

Don't know why I really want to purchase something from Alexander Wang because he have been my favorite designer for a few years now. Before Mary-Kate or all the other celebrities out there started wandering around with the Coco Duffel Bag. He used to be something that I like but now its like he became a trend and I don't really like that. I have always wanted to purchase something but never did. So I think this bag would be a good starter. I wish I can get more jobs later so I can get more money.

New Bracelet

My bracelet from Taiwan finally came. I have been counting the days since they told me its shipped. After my bad experience with Urban Outfitter, I was a little scared when I went to the post office to get the package because I have only seen pictures of the bracelet online. But it turned out to be exactly how I imagined it to be. I really like how it has that vintage yet rebellious feel to it. The two material used balance each other off. The first has that rebellious punk element but is balanced with pearls to make it more feminine. There is also a necklace in the same style, but I like the bracelet more.

Silver pearls gives off the vibe of winter. More of my style.

New edition coming out in the coming months, its covered in a special coating that changes color as light bounces off it. I can imagine 2NE1 rocking out a pair of these on stage. I'm usually not a colorful person but this pair of sneaker is so cool. Its has that hip-hop graffiti look and feel.

Don't know why, but I really want a briefcase bag. I have always wanted a brown briefcase bag, but never the urge to buy one. So i did some research online and found the fabulous looking Proenza Schouler PS1 bag. Unfortunately, it is too expensive. As much as i want a briefcase bag, I'm not willing to spend $2000 dollars on it.

While researching for an alternative, i discover Alexa Chung, fashion "it girl". She is symbolic for carrying the Mulberry Elkington. Apparently, Mulberry is inspired by her style and design a new bag named after her. "Alexa" the new bag is a more feminine version of the manly Elkngton, which is the perfect alternative.

I've fallen for this bag and can't wait till it hits the stores in January next year. Meanwhile, I'll work hard to pay for it.

My first time to Hong Kong Jockey Club. 8 years ago I wasn't old enough to go in. There are just so much excitement going on. Cheerleaders dancing around, girls in mini-skirt selling beer, and people holding newspaper shouting numbers.

I realize that all the Jockey's have very short legs. Apparently, there is a no height limit, only weight limit. I guess only tiny people can make the weight limit.

Overall, it was a interesting visit. Although i didn't win money myself i help my cousin's friend win $1000 and she treated to hot pot.

For me, i would definitely spend $200 more to get the original just because I love Alexander Wang so much. I really like the whole denim and leather trend this year. I really want the Motorcycle denim leather jacket, but its just too expensive. I can't afford to spend $1,495 for a jacket. This one i guess is a good alternative, but its still over budget.

Molecular cuisine is the end product of molecular gastronomy, a term coined in the 1980s by Herve This, a French scientist, and Nicholas Kurti, a former professor of physics at England's Oxford University. Their study mainly focus on how our brain interpret signals from all our senses to tell us the "flavor" of food. Intricately tied to the human body and its five senses.

Something very interesting is the ice cream experiment, often cited by chef and researcher Paul Barham: while a spoonful of ice cream will taste good under normal conditions, closing your eyes and eating the same spoonful while holding a piece of velvet cloth will make it taste much creamier. Rub your hand over a piece of sandpaper, and the ice cream acquires gritty texture as if the sand has transferred itself to your mouth. According to Barham, our brain seems to have the power to transform texture to taste.

Using molecular gastronomy, chefs are able to do the seemingly unthinkable, create non-sweet sugar, substitute sauces with foams, and produce leathery sheets of milk.

I always see people on TV eating it but have never tried it. At first i think its gross because i think food should just stay the way it is. But now, i actually want to try it. Even if i don't like it, at least I've tried something new. I found a restaurant that serve molecular cuisine on the internet called "Colborne Lane" which is located right here in Toronto. I was thinking maybe I could go there when I go downtown to the Toronto Film Festival. I hear their dessert is ridiculously delicious. The downside is the price, $75 pp, pre-tax, drinks. After watching Boys before flower and East of Eden, i fell in love with KPOP. Although i listened to korean songs before too but now I'm all into it.

Favorite KPOP signers now are:

1. Davichi - is a female group made up of Lee Hae-ri and Kang Min-Kyung. Found them in East of Eden O.S.T. They re-sang one of Faye Wong's song "Red Bean" in korean. I really like their style, love every single songs of theirs.

2. SS501 - is a boyband made up of Kim Hyun Joong, Heo Young Saeng, Kim Kyu Jong, Park Jung Min and Kim Hyung Joon. They have debuted since 2005 but didn't get much publicity until Kim Hyung Joong participated in Boys before flower playing Hanazawa Rui, or Yoon Ji Hoo. He was the only flower boy who was selected without going for any auditions.

I think they are much like a japanese group I love named "Kat-tun". Both group have a very unique style that doesn't follow mainstream music. They can make very weird songs into music hit. There first single "Deja vu" and their special mini album "U R Man" are my favorite. My favorite of all time is a song from Boys before flower ost called "Because I'm stupid".

3. T-Max is a boyband made up of Kim Joon Shin Min-chul and Park Yoon-ha. Just like SS501 one of their member Kim Joon also participated in Boys before flower playing Mimasaka Akira, or Song Woo Bin. Found them again in Boys before Flower OST, they have gain much popularity and publicity after the drama.

Something interesting about them is that they are BIG FAN of the japanese group "Arashi", and they filmed themselves dancing to Arashi's "Love so sweet" and gave it to their producer.

4. TaeGoon - is a singer and dancer. His struggle and hard work to become a singer is admirable. His debut single "Call me" is so addictive. I didn't pay much attention the first time I listen to it because i was focusing on looking at Park Sin Hye in his MV. But then it got stuck in my head after that and now I'm listening to it again and again. His new single "Superstar" is not bad but not addictive.

His style is much like Rain and Seven because he is such an amazing dancer. So therefor he is always compared to them.

5. Lee Seung Chul - is a actor and singer. He is former member of group Boohwal and current member of group Ten Plus. He was the reason i first started listening to East of Eden OST. I really love his song "Can you hear me now", its so full of love and fits in perfectly in the drama. Seriously, I was in the middle of watching the drama and had to stop to find out who sang the song.

Coffee flavored pineapple bun only available in this shop.

A unique Starbucks in Hong Kong that has the interior of an old fashioned Asian cafe. It is a collaboration with Hong Kong design group G.O.D. My impression of the store is an American coffee chain pretending to be local.

The only reason I wanted to go there is because of the pineapple bun. To my surprise, the Mocha Frappuccino I had was actually good, it actually taste like coffee. The last one i tried at Time Square was kind of watery.

The Store is kind of interesting to look at because the first half of the store is the modern Starbucks that you see everyday and the other half is old fashioned asian cafe. It's like you're traveling in time. lol~ There is also many items that looks like they would be in the 50s/60s.

It's actually a good gimmick to get people to go there. At least I fell for it.

Godiva Milk Chocolate Decadence Chocolixir

Starbucks Frappuccino in Honk Kong taste bad because it doesn't have much coffee taste, maybe i should say in Asia cause the one i had in Taiwan wasn't good either. Well the other day when i walk pass a Godiva store, i saw they had drinks that resemble the Starbucks Frappuccino. So i decided to try it, and it was really good. It taste better than most frozen coffees I've had.

I ordered the Milk Chocolate Decadence Chocolixir because I was afraid dark chocolate might be too bitter. The drink was sweet, but not too sweet, a perfect blend of ice and chocolate together. Overall the flavor was sweet and light, that's why I love it so much. The ice was blended so well that you can hardly see it, you can taste bit of chocolate in every sip.

The best thing about it is that you don't end up with a big pile of ground ice in the bottom of the cup like you do with some frozen coffee drinks because the ice is blended so well. Although the price is more expensive than most frozen coffees, I would definitely like to try the other flavors. The drink cost $42HK so its around $6CAD. It is more expansive because it has actual Godiva chocolate in it.

I also would like to try their strawberry ice-cream because I heard that its really good. But that would have to wait because they said its not available yet and I have to wait till late June.

星光血滴子 (Alisa) has recently released an album. And I'm surprise to know that she has a duet with 潘瑋柏 called 出乎意料. This news is for Jenny who has recently added him to her list.

Something interesting about this album is that one of her song talks about a gay relation between two men. The MV for the song was also forbidden to air in Taiwan.

There was a Hello Kitty waiting area for people taking the Hello Kitty plane. It's so cute, too bad i wasn't on it. I didn't know till i saw it, if not i would of order for it.

This was taken from the balcony at our apartment where we stayed in Taiwan. It was pouring rain that day.

This is the rice burger from "Moss Burger". Instead of the traditional bread, we get rice instead. I thought it would be crispy like fried rice, instead its soft. It taste exactly like rice with beef.

Makeover

Susan Boyle's new make-over. Although many media is saying she is now stripped of her nature, I am actually glad she did it. It's not like she went and did plastic surgery, she is just cleaning up her natural features. Seriously, she was a mess before she did the make-over, she had received more attention for her frumpy wardrobe, messy hair, and thick elbow than she has for her vocal talent.

Since her appearance on the show, Susan has been approached by many makeover companies to update her look. Despite many offers, she has politely turn down the offer because she doesn't think her look matters as long as she can sing. My opinion is that since she is a performer, she should at least make herself presentable. It is a kind of respect to do that and not make people get distracted from your performance because of your look.

I found this when I was reading my textbook, thought the word Leukemia seem very familiar and then realize that it from the movie "A walk to remember". In the movie, Jamie had terminal Leukemia and died because of the disease. I just thought that Jenny might be interested since she is so obsess with the movie.

The material is produced by Luxemburg based manufacturer DUPONT and later on processed by specialists in several sites in Germany. These bags are eco-friendly because you can actually recycle these paper bag after you're done with them. The only thought about them is that they're like designer paper shopping bag, although it is eco-friendly they just don't seem durable. I feel like it's going to break down any moment. Found these on a website and fought its pretty interesting, they actually use glue to stick it together.

Craving for a...Retro Camera

Yesterday, I was thinking about things I need to get before I go to Taiwan. One thing on my list is a camera. I don't want the typical digital camera but rather a vintage style retro camera.

The problem is a lot of the retro cameras I want are all film cameras, and I suck in photography. It is better that I buy a digital camera since I don't want to waste film. Still searching for the perfect camera so I can take a lot of picture on my trip.

Utada Hikaru - This is the one

One of my favorite Japanese female artist is releasing her third English album titled "This is the One". She is absolutely amazing and talented, you won't regret listening to her music. Some of my favorite songs of hers are "Prisoner of Love", "Flavor of Life" and "First Love".

Anyway, I just feel like I need to tell everyone about this amazing album to support her. For people who already know Utada Hikaru, this new album is more towards the mainstream style.

Although the music is superb, the album cover isn't. The font is really ugly and annoying. After taking that Typography class, I'm really sensitive about fonts. The album is being release today and I'm definitely buying a copy.

Its love at first sight! Everything about this bag appeals to me, the designer, the style, the leather! I want this badly. This is the Alexander Wang Brenda Sack in Black, which hit store in February last year. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! I want this ASAP! Unfortunately its only available in selected stores so i might get it when i go back to Hong Kong!

The following pictures are clothing piece made from traditional chinese ceramics created by chinese artist Li Xiaofeng. Using only ceramic shards from the song, ming, yuan and qing dynasties, he is able to construct beautifully shaped clothing, which can actually be worn.

This is a magnificent display of craftsmanship and excellence in design. I just love the texture and pattern display by the ceramics. I would never have thought of creating clothing out of ancient chinese ceramics. Just imagine how much time and effort is put towards making this masterpiece.

Noda Nagi is one of my favorite art director whom unfortunately passed away last year at the young age of 35. Her last creation was a collection of 15 really unique and innovative headpieces inspired by beasts such as bears, rabbits, and lions. Basically she used hair to create hats in the shape of animals. Have you ever had an obsession with an item? An obsession that seemingly comes from nowhere and no mater how impractical the item might be, you cannot stop thinking about it until you have it. For me, this item is the Dr. Martens combat boot. It is an item that all punk fashion lover must have. It is not until the past few years that Docs made a comeback and became a trend seen on runway and celebrities.

While serving the net, I found out that Chloe released a pair of Dr. Martens inspired Boot in their 2007 Fall line. The difference between them is that one has heel and the other doesn't. So which one do you prefer?

I first encounter this label from the japanese manga NANA. At first I thought it was a virtual label created by the brilliant artist Ai Yazawa because she is known for her hip sense of fashion and have created virtual label for her manga in the past. Later, I found out that Ai Yazawa is actually a fan of the label therefore decided to dress up her main characters in them. One reason is also because Vivienne Westwood's image suits the punk rock image of NANA very appropriately.

I just can't help but want to have some of the jewelry in their collection. On the top of the list would probably be the Orb necklace, then it would be the knuckle ring, and then some earring. Since all the other stuff I want is not available, I want to get a orb necklace. But the orb necklace have a lot of different variations, I'm still deciding which one looks better. Some help?

Comme des Garcons's tees are so playful, although they are pretty pricy but you'll get your money's worth for the unique design. I'm thinking of getting the first one with the big red heart, apparently its out of stock right now from the website I'm purchasing from, so i'll get it once its available. I have been wanting to get some punk accessories for quit a while now. Unfortunately the Hermes collier de chien i want is retailed at $1000, and i don't think i'm ready to spend that much on a cuff. I came across this instead while surfing the internet, it has good quality leather at affordable prices. This one will only cost me $55, so i'm planning to get it. A great artist, who's work I've came across while surfing the internet. Stella Hultberg is a painter and drawer living in New York City. Despite her background in industrial and toy design, she has recently turned her work to a more personal and expressive approach. I really like her watercolor painting and her individual style that defines her work.

Her work is mysterious, expressive and at time passionate. It fascinates me how artists are able to define their own individual style expressing their emotions as images connecting with the audiences to feel that same emotion.

Bag Dilemma

I have been looking for a bag for some while now, and I want something that is subtle yet recognizable. I don't want LV or gucci bags that sticks their logo in your face. My dilemma is that I want a seasonless, timeless bag.

So the battle is between the medium Givenchy Nightingale and the YSL Downtown. The YSL Downtown is a more recognizable bag than Givenchy. Not much people have seen Givenchy nightingale before and its more expensive than the YSL Downtown.

After I got home from the ADCC award show yesterday, I had to work on an Essay that was due today. Sadly, when i got home, i saw my sister's bf again. When he finally left at 12:30 my other sister Betty finally said something. She tells us that she doesn't like how he is spending so much time here and wouldn't automatically leave when it gets late. Finally, I'm not the only one feeling so awkward. Apparently, Betty have been going through things that is even worst then him sleeping over. Things that i have never heard of because i don't go to school with them. I feel kinda bad that Betty had to go through all of it alone. So at the end, we all began to fight late at night which didn't end until this morning. I only slept for 4 hours!

I can't believe it, he slept over again! This is the third time since last wednesday. Even after what happen with my grandmother and stuff. My mom had to take my bed again because mine is next door to her's. I think that this is going to happen more and more, no matter how awkward I feel. And maybe one day i'll just get use to it. He even has his own tooth brush now, i guess nothing is going to keep him away from my house.

My grandmother suddenly came up to me today and asked if any strangers came into the house last night. The only person i recall being a stranger is my sister's boyfriend. Then, my grandmother tells me that she lost a red box containing some of her finest and most expensive chinese green agate with 18k silver. We still have no clue rather my grandmother lost it herself or someone stole it. But my grandmother seems to think that my sister's boyfriend stole it.

Birthday Shopping

My friend is having a birthday party tomorrow, so i went shopping for her present. It is really just an excuse for shopping. I went there at 6:00 pm and shopped till it close. My first time going shopping that late, i usually go during the evening. To my surprise, I found this amazing leather motorcycle jacket at H&M. The leather is not that great, but i have seen one with less quality fabric (not even leather) at forever21 selling for almost $200. So when i saw this one, which is selling for 59.90 i quickly tried it on. It's really my style and i have been meaning to get one so i bought it. Now its mine.

I have posted earlier stating that i haven't been getting enough sleep lately, and the dark circle around my eye is getting darker and darker. One of my auntie told me that if it gets any darker, it would be hard for it to go away. I was like freaking out when i heard that. So when my friend bought eye cream at Yves Rocher, i bought one too. I'm usually not into beauty products but my dark circles are freaking me out, I look like a ghost or a zombie. According to my friend, it is the best brand for eye cream, I really hope it works. And the price is not that bad, selling at around $27.

Have you ever had your sister's boyfriend sleeping overnight at your house before? Well, I just had this situation happen to me last night! It was so awkward for me, i felt weird having him next door when i'm still getting use to his existence. He is always at my house and i see him everyday for a couple of hours, but sleeping overnight is another thing. The funny thing is that my family were all so open about it. It was as if he already lived here. Is it just me or does everyone feel that this is a little awkward?

I can't believe it! I actually fell asleep on the bus today and miss my stop! I had to walk almost 15 min to get back to my house! I have never tried sleeping on the bus before, I must be really tired. Haven't been getting enough sleep for the past few weeks, gotta take some time off!

Currently fell in love with new designer Alexander Wang. His clothes are simple yet unique at the same time, very chic. I like how his clothes reflect the way I like to dress. Using simple colors like Black, White and gray creating a laid-back urban vibe that make them perfect for every day dressing. Definitely an inspiration to look at.
